Jogging – A Bundle of Benefits

The benefits of jogging are obvious. It is not as vigorous or demanding physically, as long as you don’t leave your jogging outfit and shoes put away in lockers and take them out only occasionally, or worse still, once in a blue moon.

For people who are not fans of heavy exercising, moderate jogging is also a resolution, at the start or even on later stages, for those who easily get tired. People who have led prolonged periods of sedentary lifestyle typically find moderate jogging burdening enough. To compensate for the lighter loading owing to moderate jogging speeds, you should jog for longer periods, to be certain of burning a hefty amount of calories.

Can jogging cope with one of the flails of mankind nowadays, cholesterol, and raise the levels of good cholesterol at the expense of bad cholesterol levels, to reduce the hazards of coronary heart disease? Studies have indicated that it can and it does do wonders in those respects. Yet another common condition that lies at the basis of a vast number of diseases, high blood pressure, is also asserted to be favourably affected by regular jogging and exercising in general.

There are not just health related benefits associated with jogging. People who are concerned about their physique and compare sportspersons active in different sports often notice that long distance runners boast a leaner physique compared to a swimmers, for example. Being vain about your appearance can lead you to the thought of taking up jogging, to take good care of your body. You should remember that studies indicate more intensive fat burning during running or walking uphill than during seated exercises like cycling, or even during swimming. What is more, to do jogging you do not need special equipment or facilities, such as a bike or a large swimming pool.
