Running is our favourite thing in the whole world. But sometimes even the most avid runner can lose motivation and this can go on for weeks. Yes, this sounds bad but it can happen to any one of us. So, what is the key to finding the right motivation every time? How to push yourself to the very limit? These are the questions that we are going to try answering below. Hope this benefits you in one way or another.

People run for different reasons, hence they have different motivation. Some run because they want to be fit and look good and sexy. Others run because it keeps them energized and young. I personally run because it is fun, it helps me deal with the stress and last but not least, it keeps me in shape. But even I have experienced the so-called low motivation syndrome, which is like an awful disease. Suddenly you don’t want to go out for a run; staying in, watching TV or something else sounds so much better to you. So, here are a few things that I have learned over the years on how to avoid such temporary conditions. First of all try to have fun. For example load your mp3 player with some energizing music like dance and disco, you know whatever gets you going. Music really helps, especially when you are running alone. Yes, running alone can be boring, find a good partner who is not lazy, one that is even more motivated than you are. Also, it is very important to find a good place for jogging, the park nearby is ideal. Running in the gym can be more effective and more convenient. You know there are lockers to put your stuff in, showers, a bathroom, maybe even spa facilities. But running in the gym is really boring, monotonous and it is like you are running but no matter how hard you try you are still stuck in one place, very demotivating.

There are very few better ways of burning calories and generally maximizing energy levels than by taking up a regime of jogging, which is exactly what thousands choose to do each and every day. However, as simple an exercise as it may appear on the surface, there are certain considerations to bear in mind before grabbing your kit out of your storage lockers, in order to both get the most out for the exercise and indeed remain safe:

1. Essential Warm Ups

Such a standard piece of advice that it often goes entirely ignored, warming up before jogging is truly essential to avoid injury. However, a lesser known fact is that certain stretching exercises are also something of a no-no, as cold muscles can be pulled if you begin pulling at them. Instead, the very best way of warming up for jogging is to undergo a 5 minute brisk walk or other similar activity, leaving the stretching for after the jog in order to prevent cramps.

2. Don’t Forget to Breathe

Each and every person has their own particular and unique level of fitness and indeed ideal way of breathing when carrying out an activity. Nevertheless, some sources of information are adamant that inward breathing through the nose is the most advisable option, while other swear to the contrary. The truth however is that this differs hugely from person to person and choosing the wrong breathing method can be downright dangerous, therefore simply go with whichever feels the most comfortable which really only you will know.

3. Steady Pace

Last but not least, when starting out it is always a good idea to establish your own limits slowly but surely, perhaps by alternating between fast-walking and jogging to minimize the risk of strain. What’s more, it is always best to concentrate on form and focus for the first few weeks rather than pushing exactly how far you can go. By building up slowly, it will likely be no time at all before you’re covering a good few miles or so without even thinking about it.

When the warm weather comes to pass and the winter months well and truly set in, it once again becomes a little too tempting to shelve the jogging regime until the spring rolls around, with millions doing exactly that. Unfortunate to say the least, as jogging is an excellent way of improving energy, fighting the winter blues and keeping a trim figure ready for when the warm weather once again hits next year. Regardless of current level, there are a few simple tips that joggers can use to undergo a little brain training and keep motivation high through the winter months.

First and foremost never job alone, as if apprehension is already an issue, it would be hugely unwise to add additional boredom into the mix. Considering running with a buddy or perhaps a large group, as the more people there are around to keep motivation up, the less chance there is of cutting runs short or avoiding them altogether.

Secondly, as simple as it may sound, selecting the appropriate clothes is essential, as regardless of how many times so many runners will try, summer gear simply will not cut it in the winter months. Stock up on warm comfy gear and the appropriate shoes and it may surprise just how much less of a chore the whole experience immediately becomes.

Finally, though perhaps most importantly of all, don’t for a second rule out the idea of running or jogging indoors. The simple fact of the matter here is that there are always thousands of places open all year round which enable any person to continue their running or jogging schedule regardless of the weather, which it has to be said limits realistic excuses quite a bit to say the least.

True, the changing room benches might not be quite as pretty as the park, but this is hardly a valid excuse not to keep up the current regime, is it?

When you make the decision to go jogging, it is not merely just putting on your running shoes and dressing appropriately. There are certain things that you must pay attention to before and during your jog. One of the key areas that many joggers tend to not pay much attention to is that of diet. Consuming the wrong foods can result in a number of problems including sabotaging your weight loss goals.

Here are some suggestions on what should be included in a jogger’s diet.

Ensure that you consume a good amount of carbohydrates. Joggers need carbohydrates to jog especially for an extended period of time. Stay away from empty carbohydrates and go for those complex carbohydrates that can be found in foods such as pastas and whole grain breads. These carbohydrates provide your body with the energy it needs while you are jogging.

Do consume some fat. Contrary to popular belief fat is not your enemy and as such it is needed in your diet when going jogging. It is suggested by experts that you consume healthy fat that is at least 25% of your diet. Foods such as nuts, avocado, and olive oil are filled with the healthy fats that you need.

Consume a lot of protein but don’t overdo it. Protein is important for muscle building and it also helps in muscle repair and rebuild. Experts say that a minimum of 15% of your diet should consist of proteins. Foods such as lean meat and especially egg whites are high in protein.

Add some green leafy vegetables to your diet as these will provide you with the phytonutrients which act similar to antioxidants. This aids in preventing damage to the muscles. Foods such as curly endive, mache, butter leaf greens, and spinach are all good. Always carefully wash your vegetable to help prevent food poisoning and avoid the need for food poisoning compensation.

Dar chocolate is not only a great treat but also has great health benefits. It is believed to be able to decrease blood clots and inflammation, and also lower cholesterol.

Running or jogging is one of the best ways of keeping in shape. There is no other exercise that is as intense for the body as running, may it be swimming, rowing etc. If you are a fitness enthusiast and if you don’t run, then you are either lying or missing something very important. The beauty about running is that it affects every part of the body. It shakes every part, making sure every part of the body is getting used and is not getting rusty.

While running is so important and so vital for great health, it can become a bit boring after a certain period and this is where music jumps in. There is no doubt that music and running go hand in hand. Whenever you listen to a great cd, you automatically start shaking your feet to the rhythm. Our body is designed to respond to great music. Recently I was at a friend’s place and I heard him playing a cd he had recently bought, I was so caught up to the music that I immediately knew that this cd is going to help me with my daily running session so I got some cd duplication done. The very next day as I woke up and went for running after I had transferred the music from the cd to my iPod, I had one of the best times. It’s funny how good music can make your heart pant and your body run.

If you are not in your best health and if you know that you need to get fit, then don’t wait for anybody, just get hold of your music system and start running. Trust me you will have a great time.

One thing that all runners underestimate is the need for a decent internet connection. If you think that’s a strange remark then you obviously don’t realise how much information is at your fingertips. Whereas before I had to guess on what the best shoes for me were, what the best warm up method is and how long I should run for, now I know all of this just by looking around on the web. Without the internet I wouldn’t have found the below video.

Running has become a bit of a drug for me. Whereas before I struggled to even run a mile, now I can run for at least four miles before even breaking a sweat. Once again the web came to my rescue on learning what my limits are and providing advice on just what kind of warm ups I should do before I started jogging. The only thing I failed at initially was in not getting a decent broadband connection. After my old provider crashed thirteen times in two days I decided that the time was rife to upgrade. Fortunately a close friend of mine was able to recommend a few options the best of which was www.abroadband.com. As I access the internet mainly through my phone I needed a provider who could give me a better service when on the move. Abroadband hit the button on both price and service – they were cheaper then my old provider and gave me greater coverage.

I cannot stress enough how important it is having your phone enabled for broadband when running. Not only will it enable you to access new routes and ideas, it will also prevent you from getting lost! Having a decent connection will stop the GPS from failing and you from getting lost – like I did several months ago thanks to my old service provider conking out on me halfway through a new running route I was trying. I don’t have that problem anymore and as a result have been able to find twenty new running routes in the last month alone. I’ve also been connecting with other runners in my area through a handy app I downloaded. Again another example of how important the internet has become to running!

The only problem with using the phone when running is that you can get distracted easily. If you are going to use it when running stop if you need to consult something on the phone. Another tip to remember is never under any circumstances wear earphones when running. I know it’s the fashionable trend these days and I have seen many runners jogging whilst listening to their music on the phone or their ipod, but at the risk of sounding like my mum; it’s dangerous. If you want proof, look no further then a news item published by The Mail online several months ago. Phones and ipods are great when running, but they are tools to help, not hinder. Never forget it.

Three things are true, we believe: 1) there are too many articles focussed on expert joggers and not on beginners. 2) too many beginner joggers give up too early before they have really received any benefit and 3) everyone can jog!

In this article I hope to not only give beginners something to read but explain how you can beat the pain barrier and also how we can all benefit from jogging or running.

Firstly, it really doesn’t matter what weight you are: you can still jog. As long as you can walk to the end of a short garden without passing out and you don’t need to be airlifted out through the ceiling then you too can enjoy the feel of being outside in the fresh air. Another thing: it will be painful, because everything is to begin with, right? That’s no excuse to throw in the towel early. Here is a common scenario which you may or may not associate with:

go at your own pace. Do this for at least 2 weeks, or until you feel more comfortable

Jane has had 3 children and doesn’t have time to jog or train. She also weighs more than she likes and gets bad shin-splints when she tries to jog. So she doesn’t bother. She just ignore her doctor, who says that everyone can jog if they really put their mind to it.

Sound familiar? I’m willing to bet that with more than a few of you it is.

Here’s how to break through the pain barrier:

start very slow. By that I mean so you are basically walking but picking your feet up to propel you forward. And…

Don’t make the mistake of breaking into a sprint in those brand-new saucony running shoes …there’s no need to. Just go at your own pace. Do this for at least 2 weeks, or until you feel more comfortable with picking up the pace.

Do breathe properly: not sharp short breaths, but medium ones where you breathe in through your mouth and then out through your nose. We are all different so if you feel like you need to adjust the way you do this as you run, feel free. There is no real right or wrong way to do this, so it’s all a bit of trial and error, really.

After a few weeks you should be much more comfortable. By this time you can listen to music and you won’t need to concentrate so much on breathing. Sound good? That’s because it is, and we can all learn to do it!

Women often complain about running, and don’t worry, I say that as a woman who is an expert complainer! One of the things I like to complain about the most is how unsociable running can be. But then I remind myself of the following things, and you should too if you’re anything like me!

1) You don’t have to be alone. Especially at night, why not invite a friend to follow you on their bike? That way they’ll get some much needed exercise and you’ll feel more comfortable about jogging in the dark.

2) Music is amazing…but oh…those ear-phones you put in your ears – the small cheap ones – do have a habit of falling out, don’t they? So why not solve that problem and invest in some nice ear-phones that give great sound quality and never fall off? Exactly. Problem solved.

3) Another thing which can kill two birds with one stone is listening to audio-books while you run. It can be fiction or non-fiction, or even a discourse on skins compression uk for work if you wish, there really are an infinite range of options. This is great because it takes you off to another world while your physical self does all the heavy stuff. You get the best of both worlds both for mind and body! What more could you ask for?

4) There are running groups galore, and if they’re decidedly lacking in your area then why not start one up? The local paper or noticeboard might be happy to help you, so don’t be shy about getting the word out.

Similar Posts:
Yesterday’s Olympic, today’s Universal Championship : The time…
Prepare yourself against injuries : While skiing and…
Quiksilver Wir Schanzen Finale : Snowdiver’s dream date…
Run for health & fitness : As a runner, I have worn a lot of…

Not too many races has Imana Merga won till date from the many outings that he has participated in, but he has won the perfect victory as a first time this year. It was the IAAF World Cross Country Championships, where he shook off three rival participants for his own country, Kenya, to win the event, the gold medal and a cheque for US $30,000. If Merga continues to win like this then he will definitely need a top of the line wealth manager like Rowan Dartington. The event was held at Punta Umbria in Spain.

The race saw the main contenders going a relaxed pace for the first 2 km. It was at the third lap of the total six laps that made the race, when 14 men were left over as the serious contenders and leading the pack. It was Matthew Kisorio and Paul Tanui, both from Kenya who increased the tempo of the run. Their main competitors were those from Ethiopia and Merga with Hunegnaw Mesfin being the one single specific runner they had to watch out for being the Ethiopian winner at the trials.

The group had turned into a motley pack of one man to 10 when the 8 km point had been reached. It was at this point that Mesfin and Merga broke out into a rush and there was nothing which could take on him in the last dash.

Mesfin who had set the pace in the initial portions of the race had to pay the price by being exhausted and struggling to keep his place. This was also the time when Merga as per his own statement, had decided to push his efforts up as he felt confident of winning the race at this point.

For Merga the only other World Cross Country Championship experience has been the junior event which he participated in four years ago. That event had taken place in Mombasa and he had finished up seventh at that event.

How to find out whether you have the running bug? Is it sufficient to have running at the back of your mind at all times? Is a natural interest in athletics and running related events sufficient? Or should you look for something more?

Do you think that running is a manly sport? Are you of the opinion that it will not be good for your figure? Do you still feel the urge to put on your running shoes and take a run around the neighborhood? Welcome to the club.

You need not possess the desire to run a marathon to enjoy running. Of course, marathon happens to be the ultimate test of one’s running abilities. Even the wind blowing over your face as you run at a high speed may act as sufficient motivation. What matters is the intensity of the desire.

How to proceed now that you have discovered that you love running? It is very important to feed this hunger. If you ignore it, not only will it just die but you will also lose a fantastic chance to do something that makes you really happy. Just log onto the internet and check out resources for running enthusiasts. When you can log on to the internet to find the best supplier for red diesel Ipswich, what is the harm in using the internet to fuel this hobby of yours?

There is one simple rule to keep your interest in running alive - run as much as possible. Come rain or shine, make it a point to be seen on the running track sweating your heart out. If you persevere long enough, you will automatically find all the information you need on the web.
